Often beauty is found in the most unlikely of places. True beauty
originates in the heart and works its way to the surface in a variety of
ways. You can spend a lot of time and money trying to be beautiful in
society’s eyes or you can choose instead to have a heart for God’s eyes
and accept that He already considers you beautiful. Beautiful people can
be ugly, just as (self perceived) unattractive people can be beautiful.
You know this is true. Fortunately, The LORD does not look at the
things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD
looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7) Charm is deceptive, and beauty is
fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. (Proverbs
31:3) But be careful to remember that beauty as well as unpleasantness
is also made manifest through word and deed. "In the same way, on the
outside you appear to people as righteous in attitude and behavior, but
on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." (Matthew 23:28)
