God, I'm Praying But You're Not Listening!

Are there reasons why God doesn't answer prayer? “Even when you do ask, you don’t get it because your whole motive is wrong – you want only what will give you pleasure.” (James 4:3).
There are qualifications: “if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.” (1 John 5:14). We must also be sure there is no unconfessed sin in our hearts: “The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)

“Three times I begged the Lord to make this suffering go away. But he replied, “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” (2 Cor 12:8) Paul wrote. Likewise, does this also mean that when we are strong God is weak? I think not. Sometimes our own pride gives us the illusion that we are strong and that we do not need God in certain areas of our lives. For many, He doesn't even exist to us in a practical sense at all. It's no wonder these folks are doomed to fail using their own strength and "methods" of coping.

Remember when the Lord had a certain prayer request from His very own Son, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”" (Luke 22:39-42). Jesus requested that His life be spared and did God listen? It seems God had other plans for Him....BIG plans, in fact.

We must conclude from this that God does not always answer our prayers the way we request or even in the time frame we request. Yet, God still sits on His throne and has a plan for our lives. Sometimes He requires that we go though the fire in order to make us weak.....and THEN make us strong again!

Ever think about this yourself?
